After 28 years of practice, I have gained a wealth of diagnostic, surgical and dental experience.  Creating my house call practice now allows me to be available to a select group of clients while optimizing the quality and longevity of their pets’ lives.

Following my family’s tradition of house call medicine (3 generations of house call doctors in Iowa and Colorado) relieves my patients of the stress of traveling to a hospital to see me. I provide personalized care, blending the warmth and hospitality of a family doctor’s house-call practices with the most modern therapeutics and diagnostics for my veterinary patients.

My husband Tom and our two teenage daughters, Kim and Sabrina, share our house with a black Labrador Clover, a terrier mutt Chenzy, and our beloved cat Gilbert.  Gilbert survived 14 transfusions and 2 weeks in critical care before we had pet insurance (ouch!)  Chenzy, on the other hand, had Trupanion Insurance when she needed an MRI and neck surgery at age 4.  What a difference!  Because of my own and clients’ experiences with costs of specialized care, I like to spend a lot of time educating clients about the benefits of pet insurance and take extra effort supporting their insurance claims.

In my free time, I love hiking, skiing, traveling, and volunteering with the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club’s many local and international projects. I also regularly mentor young people interested in veterinary medicine and volunteer with the SPCA-LA, regularly fostering cats and kittens with the help of my daughter Sabrina.
